Product Description Over 2 million records sold, three gold and one platinum single, a gold DVD release, countless sold out tour dates and numerous awards and nominations including the 2008 Grammy Nomination For 'Best New Artist' Award, you can say that Paramore has reached mainstream stardom. Arguably one of the most anticipated releases of 2009, 'brand new eyes' is by far the band's most personal album. Produced by Grammy Award-winner Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Kid Rock, My Chemical Romance) and co-produced by the band, the long-awaited follow-up to 2007's platinum certified second album, 'Riot!' The 11-track collection is unquestionably Paramore's best and brightest album to date, fit to burst with all the exuberant melodies, breathless hooks, and irrepressible energy that has made the Nashville-based band one of the most popular rock outfits in recent memory.

Hayley is my girl. 4 stars. July 9, 2010 Adrian the Complex Lonely (USA) At first, I wasn't sure what to make of some of these songs. I really enjoyed some of the songs on Riot but when comparing them to the songs on Brand New Eyes, the songs didn't have that same catchiness, overall. HOWEVER, that might be the best part of this album. It has DEPTH.
And to say there are NO catchy songs on this CD is not true at all. Why you might ask? Because I've had this CD for a week, and I'm already singing along to some of the non-singles. It's my best purchase I've made this month so far. Not that you should compare the two, but I also bought Lady Gaga's The Fame which is good in its own right, but not as good as Paramore's third entry.
The CD itself kinda has a theme. And that's losing a bandmate and even almost breaking up over it. But they chose to persevere. Us fans are really glad too! I'd rather not live in a world without Paramore. Hayley is a decent vocalist and an awesome personality to have around, celebrity-wise. So yeah. Kudos to her! And big ups to the rest of the band too for making this CD sound great.
Songs on the CD are as follows:
1. CAREFUL
2. IGNORANCE
3. PLAYING GOD
4. BRICK BY BORING BRICK
5. TURN IT OFF
6. THE ONLY EXCEPTION
7. FEELING SORRY
8. LOOKING UP
9. WHERE THE LINES OVERLAP
10. MISGUIDED GHOSTS
11. ALL I WANTED
My favorites in order are probably 'Misguided Ghosts' (heartbreaking and honest), 'Turn It Off' (fun in a twisted, almost dark kinda way), 'All I Wanted' (really easy to listen to) & 'Feeling Sorry' (grew on me. really upbeat and cool).
The two tracks that skate on the filler side are 'Looking Up' and 'Where The Lines Overlap'. They are still decent tracks, but they aren't great. And they put them right after one another. :-/
Anyway, great CD. I don't care what anyone else says. Yes, it's not as immediately catchy and flamboyant as Riot is but it is probably the better CD. It is very, very consistent and I don't regret buying it for a second. I see myself listening to it for a while on and off.
4 stars or an 8/10.

great album by Paramore, not so poppy July 5, 2010 Daniel Kapper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I first quickly breezed through this album last year on their myspace page and decided that the songs didn't sound catchy enough for me. I was hoping for another Riot-like album, which this isn't. For example, there aren't any songs like "Crushcrushcrush," "misery business" or "That's what you get" on this.
It reminds me more of All We Know is Falling, but it mostly carries with it a new vibe altogether. After listening to "The Only Exception" on youtube and loving it, I decided to re-listen to the album, and I realized that I'm glad that it doesn't sound like Riot, it's fresh. Zac has some pretty awesome drumming on this, and Hayley's voice sounds a little more mature and natural sounding, not so piercing and digitally altered like some of the tracks from their previous works.
Just keep in mind, most of the songs on this are not as radio-welcome as riot; the songs are not as simplistic, or poppy. So the average radio-listener might not enjoy it. They are a little more raw than that and require that you listen to them a few times through before you really can appreciate the mixing/songwriting/musicality.
Overall, this is the perfect next installment to the Paramore collection. It's got a new feel, but it still has that Paramore sound to it.
If you like Paramore, definitely buy this album, and if you've never heard of them, give it a try. If you like alternative rock, you'll more than likely enjoy this band.
Well Done June 25, 2010 D. Dohoda (Peabody, MA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I picked it up as soon as I was aware that it was available, and listened to it as soon as it was unwrapped. I was kind of "meh." Nothing *super* catchy. It seemed more mature than their last release, but that was kind of damning with faint praise. That said, I consider it an unwritten rule of music that CDs which you don't hate, but don't love on first listen will end up being amazing after a few more tries. In just such a way, I did find myself listening to this frequently. A good release makes its own context and you have to get into that zone before you can fairly judge it.
There's still a twinge of holier-than-thou in the lyrics. Haley's voicework has grown more impressive ; it's pretty hard to understate this point. I've always felt that if Haley was on American Idol, she'd lose, but she fits her bandmates so well I can hardly imagine anyone else in her place. As impressive as she is, her bandmates still have a characterstic sound and that hasn't gone away. They've gotten no harder, but no softer, either, which in my view places them in a perfect spot for popular hard rock / pop punk / whatever genre you think Paramore is. I want to say it is more of the same, because the sound is the same; but I can't say it is more of the same, because it is so very much an improvement.
Overall, a really excellent release that grew on me in a very big way. I find myself placing it in every ad hoc playlist I whip up; if you enjoyed their last two releases, I expect you will, too.
awesome! May 27, 2010 Joan E. Rummell 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had never even heard of Paramore before I saw this album at my local library and decided to give it a try. as soon as the first song came on, I was hooked. Sure, some of the songs sound a tiny bit the same, but it is a great album, period. It's so fun to sing too because you can REALLY scream all of the songs at the top of your lungs! it's so fun. I found myself rushing to the store to buy it! I love it.
Standout tracks: The only exception, brick by boring brick, turn it off
I love this album and band May 4, 2010 Amanda Butcher (Las Vegas, NV) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Misert Business was my first intro to Paramore. I love that song and everyone knows a girl like Hayley Williams did. I love the songs they did for Twilight I wish they would have put some on New Moon but I understand the reasons why they didn't. And this album is wonderful to me at least and I think any one else who takes the time to listen to it will find it just as great. They really are a great band and the music they write has something everyone can relate to.
